Hejhej, my name is Lucas¹. I craft all sorts of visual stuff with passionate people who love what they do —like me. I feel especially comfortable creating for screens, but I’m driven to explore, learn and experiment across all kind of media. Basically I’m simply obsessed with form and function, texture and material.
lucasdidthis.com is my tumblr-like personal blog as well as my research and design LAB and –at its very core– a reflection of my multidisciplinary hunger and insatiable curiosity. Hopefully it's going to be in flux forever, but I wrote about why I (re-)started it in 2021 and what kind of content orientation I had in mind in great detail in an early blogpost.
Besides the blog, I run a ‘static’ website over at lucasrees.com, but it’s offline for the moment! A new version is coming, but don’t hold your breath, I’m going to let you know in the blog when it becomes available again.
Anyways, thanks for stopping by,
enjoy the blog, scroll slow and happy clicking!

»Human beings can’t make perfect things. When I make something symmetric, something a little too perfect, I always want to break it, destroy it a little. [...]
I think perfection is ugly. Somewhere in the things humans make, I want to see scars, failure, disorder, distortion.« / Yōhji Yamamoto
»I’m not anti-search-engine, but i'm anti-easy. I think creating confusion is the best way to use the internet.« / Cali Thornhill DeWitt
»I don't like that word finish. When something is finished, that means it's dead, doesn't it? I believe in everlastingness. I never finish a painting — I just stop working on it for a while. I like painting because it's something I never come to the end of.« / Arshile Gorky

No Social Media bullshit, but some other related places on the web:

Not really a Blogroll tbh., but some shout-outs to friends and fine people who have inspired and/or supported me during my creative life up to now:
